Jonco Die Company Inc. was founded in 1965 by John and Joann Gordon in their home in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. John had worked from 1959 to 1965 for a company that manufactured flex graphic printing plates and steel rule cutting dies for the corrugated market.

The business grew from a handful of part time employees to several full time employees necessitating the move to the Stinson Blvd. location in 1972. In June of 2000 the business was relocated to the Mounds View location.

John soon realized if the company was to keep its new employees fully employed it would be necessary to expand their tooling to other industries. The company began manufacturing tooling for the folding carton industry, printing industry, and specialty markets such as plastics, electronics, gaskets, silk screen printing and foam packaging.

Today Jonco primarily serves the packaging industry by supplying Flat and Rotary tooling and related services for corrugated converters and Flat Dies, Stripping and Blanking tooling and related services for folding carton converters.

Jonco has always been an innovative company seeking ways to improve our tooling and offering ideas and techniques to our customers in an effort to continually bring improvement to the process.

Over the years the company has made every effort to incorporate the latest technology in its manufacturing processes to enhance quality and turn around time. Jonco was the first die making company in its market to install a cad system and cad driven plotters. Jonco was the first company to offer laser cut dies, counter plates, machine processed rule and water jet cut rubber in the markets we serve.

Jonco is located in 38,000 ft. of space at 5201 Program Ave., Mounds View Minnesota. The company employs 55 people and is committed to continually upgrading its technology and training to better meet the requirements of its customers.
